Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released on Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn recognition. The album that she released as her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks to the Internet in 2012 when she launched her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. In 2014, she released additional music on the internet including Bound. Sweat It is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21 2015. J. Cole had her send her songs for the Dreamville Team in the following year as he wanted Rihanna to work with her on some references. On December 8 that she had signed with Dreamville Records. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. On October 21, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed in her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening performance. She also appeared on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus along with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. The music video then released in September. Her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. Two additional singles were also released by her on November 13 with the titles Pedigree and One. Shea Butter Baby is a song that she performed with Cole on the soundtrack to Creed II on November 16th. It then came out as a stand-alone single in February 2019 to coincide with the release of her debut album. In February 2019, her music video to the track was launched. The track has garnered over 3 million YouTube views in just a single week. In December 2018, she performed as performing as a support act on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
